About Corbett National Park

It is the oldest wildlife national park in India, established way back in 1936 A.D. Named after the great hunter later turned into nature conservationist Jim Corbett; the park is located in Nainital which is an exotic hill station in Uttaranchal state in India.
Corbett national park is mainly reckoned for its tiger project that is aimed to protect endangered species of Bengal Tiger. Along with tigers, you find here great variety for flora and fauna. Cheetal, elephant, sambar, neelgai, King cobra, flying foxes, and more along with almost 600 species of birds give you the plentiful wildlife sight at Corbett.
Geographically, Corbett is spread in huge space that is almost 1318.54 sq. km! Originally the park was 323.75 sq. km, later in 1991, 197.07 sq. km of area was added to the park. Comparing to the other national parks in India, Corbett has temperate climate that makes it pleasurable for all round the year. Rainfall varies to minimal in dry seasons to heavy during rainy season (monsoons).

Jim Corbett National Park is undoubtedly the most touristed park in India. Though being at such extreme location, it is well connected by all means of communication and transportation.
